This is a one day professional learning workshop that focuses on quality assessment in PDHPE. Participants will gain an understanding of assessment as an integral part of the teaching and learning cycle and developing tasks that align outcomes and teaching and learning activities with the assessment task and the marking criteria. This will include unpacking the NESA material on best practice assessment: assessment of, for and as learning and how these can be implemented into the classroom. This workshop will allow participants to explore, discuss and write quality assessment tasks for PDHPE. Areas of focus will include: Assessment as key aspect of the teaching and learning cycle, Principles of quality assessment, Assessment of, for and as learning – what these look like in the classroom. Writing quality tasks and rubrics the main message for teachers who are writing assessment tasks.
